Mr. Melendez entered the ranks of professional trainers twenty years ago after he discovered his talent for “reading” dogs, that is understanding the way dogs communicate through body language. He apprenticed under European master-trainers, and acquired on the job experience at the world famous Abedon Kennels, in New York. Mr. Melendez has since earned numerous AKC show and performance titles along with the coveted Schutzhund III degree, for several Abedon bred German Shepherds. His varied background includes work in obedience. Sports, behavior training and personal protection. For the past ten years Mr. Melendez has also worked extensively with toy breeds and apartment dogs to correct canine behavior problems. |
